wait how?
some players are accusing me of cheating

I advice you to cry. Crying helps people to move on from such traumatic events. It must have been really sad for you that you were accused of cheating. Sad enough to post a forum thread dedicated to this. Sad enough to ask people for advice on this.

If you are cheating, you will get caught eventually.
If you are not cheating, then it doesn't matter.
just disable chat.
your game was already reported for inspection probably. if administration sees anything unusual you already will get punished.
if not. then there is nothing you to worry about

@IMBacon so you are saying that making false accusations and trying to destroy a GM reputation ( or anybody's reputation ) in chess. com is for free??? What you are saying is that it is not worth paying for a membership at chess.com or even coming to this site because here people can spit you in the face and ... "it doesn't matter" ??? Now I am interested to see how the whole thing ends up.

Its online chess. No one loses a game anymore. The opponent cheated is the default blame storm.
I have no idea what a paid membership, or coming to this site has to do with any of this?
If someone wants to spit at their monitor? Feel free.
How it will end up is exactly what i posted. If the OP cheated they will get caught eventually. If they didnt cheat? Then it doesn't matter. Do you know how many times I had been accused of cheating when i did play? A Lot. I always took it as a compliment. You only need to look at my games to know that i wasn't cheating, or cheating very badly.

I once did have someone accuse me of cheating in private chat, which I did not do. I assumed that they must've already reported, but it's been about a month and nothing happened to my account because they found nothing wrong. I doubt they will ban an innocent person, if they deduce that you are innocent.

I always sent the accuser the link to report people.

@ IMBacon, what I can read is that first you say "it doesn't matter" and in your last post you say "I always sent the accuser the link to report people". I think you have just displayed a portray of yourself painted by you in the most realistic of the styles. Thank you for being honest !

I always encouraged people to report me for cheating. One of two things happened:
1. I was never reported.
2. I was reported and...DUH...hey found nothing suspicious.
This is partly what i mean by "It doesn't matter". Am I concerned abut my "online reputation?" No. The people here that know me in real life, know the type of person I am.

@IM Bacon, so back to square one, spitting in someone else's face at chess.com is for free ...
It is impossible to spit in someones face here.
Again...Its an accusation. if you didn't cheat then you have nothing to worry about. Unless the acceptance of online people you dont know is that important to you. And if you did cheat. You will eventually get caught. But you can always open another account and try again.
Ask 100 people here their opinion of me. You'll probably get some that cant stand me, some that think I'm helpful, some that dont care, and some that dont have an opinion. At the end of the day, does any of it really matter? No.

What does it matter? If you're not cheating, like IMBacon says, you shouldn't be afraid. Your reputation is only cemented if you beat them 100% clean.

tbh if he would be a real GM theres a good chance he uploaded proof and wear a title here most likely? Also, if he would have requested to display that title here he probably wouldnt be accused in the first place. And can we know to trust him? Maybe, not accusing him now but theres always a chance, hes a random guy, saying he's this guy and GM and playing by engine. No one knows,
Only correct thing is to hell him to move on, every game you play in your life will get you in that situation. Pretty sure if Hikaru oder Magnus would play on a second account with 400 elo, the same thing would happen and the other time around you can have a good day (or vice versa the enemy a very bad one) and/or luck, so such situatuons are unavoidable if you get to play at a decent level.
Otherwise feel complimented and not destroyed. That someone called out cheats on you meant you play'd well.
EDIT: Backtracing his name on his account shows a FIDE rating of
1,5k and rapid 1,7k. Still an skilled player, but as i said, you can never know what people say. Hes surely no GM but still skilled, so on he probably was lucky. In this case he should feel complimented for beeing accused and ashamer for lieng.

@DarkestOnyx, what matters is that you can make false accusations here and there without being afraid of any kind of penalty or punishment. Cheating is a breach in the community contract, making false accusation is also a breach in the social contract, there is punishment for the cheater but nothing happens to someone who makes up false accusations ... is it for free at chess.com ??? is this true? or what will be the outcome of the accusation against the GM from Iran ???
i had played some games of giveaway; winning by JUST PREMOVING, and after the game my opponent says i am cheating. what do you advice me to do?
