Hayleegurl, one can checkmate with a knight and bishop against a lone king. White will be able to take out those pawns and then take on the long checkmate.  If white knows what they're doing, they can do it in less than 50 moves.

It's great how people constantly post the same question without looking for the answer throughout the thread, like this Bb5+ thing.

  • #168

easy, after you understand that you are not going for the checkmate.

  • #169

    easy

    I think 1. Bb5+ is better... No ?

    If 1. ... Kd1, 2. Nf3+ wins. If 1. ... Kd2, 2. Nf3+ wins too. If 1. ... Ke3, 2. Nec2+ wins. And of course if 1. ... Qc4, 2. Bxc+ wins.

  • #176

    good 1!

  • #177

    No, 1Bb5+ is worse as 1. ..., Kd1, 2. Nf3+, fxg1+, 3. Nxg1, Qe6+ winning a knight and at least getting a draw.  Go back through the comments and you'll see.
