I was thinking the same thing. And does anyone know why 4.a4 is wrong please? I don't see how both mate threats (b4/Bd2) can be defended.
Fairly difficult puzzle. Step by step and ... a checkmate.

4 a4 is answered by the delaying move Ba2, which means mate in 6 i guess.
