I'd say Black didn,t develope his peices or move his King out of harms way. Two musts of a good opening.
I'm curious, why is it the white queen cannot capture the black rook for check, then take the Queen and checkmate?

That was so easy, I didn't see it at first.
Good puzzle. I focused my attention on the open diagonal file that I missed the checkmate.
Nice checkmate. Teaches you to look at the whole board.
