not an easy mate from where it ends

    a) 6...Kg6 7 Qg8+ Kh6 8 Rh7#

    b) Your line is far too complicated: 6...Kh6 7 Qh8+ Kg6 8 Qg8+ Kh6 9 Rh7#
Simply use the Rf7 as a blocking line ...

7...Kg5 instead of Kg6 will stretch that line out as well.

Correct sir. Best I could come up with after seeing your latest comment.

I think it's easier and better to mate black by first moving the queen to B8

This (1 Qb8+) was my try too (1...Kg7). However Black has a flight square on h6.

Here I don't see any continuation of the White attack! Cry

The problem for White is that f8 is covered by the Qc5! Black threatens 2...Nxc2 (if 3 Nxc2 Black mates 3...Rd1+ 4 Ne1 Rxe1#)! Surprised
(After 3 Rxc2 Black can either play 3...Rd1+ or 3...Qg5+ or 3...Rg4+. Probably best is 3...Rg4+ 4 Kf1 Qxe3 - both sides are in danger!) Cool
