1. Qg7+; Rxg7 (If Bxg7, 2. hxg7#)

2. hxg7+; Kg8, 3. Rh8#

Not easy seeing, and I may not consider such Q sac in a real game; that's why I am not Capablanca the Great.

Nothing to it but to do it......

Easy Sunday puzzle!

So easy...

cool!

I need harder puzzles, cause this is too easy

Nice break to have this easy one to relax on.  Now I'll look at the puzzle posted by pcfilho; maybe it will be a bit more stimulating.

Edit: by the way, it should be noted that black had one alternative move:
1. ... g4,  but the result would have been virtually the same:
2. Qxg4#

ok, black King is happy we ended his misery quickly...

easy and nice puzzle

sunday funday!

Pretty nice Sunday puzzle from pcfilho and Capablanca.  Only two starts to think of .  I might start with advancing the h-pawn, but it would be answered by 1. ... Rg7, and 2.Qxg7+ would be answered by 2. ... Bxg7, and no checkmate in sight;   So that is quickly rejected and we look at the old Queen sacrifice as the key to solution.

1.Qg7+  Bxg7,  2.hxg7#
OR
1.Qg7+  Rxg7,  2.hxg7+  Kg8, 3.Rh8#

By the way, white has a knight in there,  but the knight's function is plainly to prevent the black king from capturing at (and escaping to) g7.

that was sooooo easy but fun

hehe, fun.
