I wondered why back wouldn't play 1... gxh6. Here's where that would lead.

what about 2)...gxh6 ? no mate then.
personally i saw the pawn move before the PC played Nh5.
As far as 1.. gxRh6 is met by:
2. Qg8+ .. Nf6xQg8 and
3. Be6-f5 #
So gxRf6 is a mate in 3 actually, Molinos a couple of posts upwards posted it 1st, but you have to also check this variation in order to find the best defence for black.
But i would have prefered the sequence with 4. f5# because it's the brave pawn that becomes the hero! :)
Took me a while to work out why not 4 Kg6.
