# 5/20/2013 - Mate in 3

• #41

Tighten the noose.

After 1.Kc2, black has 2 options.

If 1. ...  Kc4, then 2. Qc5#

So Black moves 1. ... Ke3.
Now, 2.Qf4+ tightens the noose, Black is forced to 2. ... Ke2, and White can finish it off with 3.Qf2#

Moving 1.Kc2 really limit's black's move's to either ...Kc4, 2.Qc5#,or...Ke3, 2.Qf4+...Ke2, 3.Qf2#.Turned out to be pretty easy, just had to see what black could do.Nice to see mate before you even made your first move.Neat puzzle!!!
