    I expected something more demanding/challenging on Thursday.

    Move 1. was the only checking move available to white that wouldn't result in the checking piece being captured.  Black's response was forced - no alternatives to consider.  And the final knight checkmate was completely obvious.

    Perhaps the idea was to show that sometimes queen sacrifices might be blunders rather than keys to victory.  But for all daily puzzle's queen sacrifice models,  I still look at them only last and reluctantly.
