After reading this comment I ran this puzzle through the engine here on Chess.com.  Interestingly enough it didn't even list 1. Qe6!! as one of its three choices from the starting position.  I assume that's because it is not forced mate.  But once I played 1. Qe6!! the engine gave it a much higher scoring advantage than any of the three starting position choices. 

A guess this all goes to show that one should not entirely trust an engine, or at least the one here on Chess.com.Smile

Yeah, same thing happened to me, though on a retry, it did list 1. Qe6!! as the best option. It might be browser/JS related but I'm not sure... Anyway, it's a very rare slip.
