Chess.com's Weekly Study: August 21th 2016
Sort:
Top class endgame as every week. I mixed up 2nd and 3rd move, a mistake worthwhile to include in the analysis:
2. Nb6+? Kb4! (Kb5?, Be3 is the main line) 3. Be3 Bxe3! and white is mated after promotion even when preceded by Nd5+.
The reason that Nb6+ must be delayed in the solution is to allow white to promote with check if black captures the bishop on e3 with his own bishop.
