A tournament for the ≤ 1200 rating gang

Time control: This is a "daily" tournament, meaning you get up to 3 days per move (long enough to give you time to think, short enough to keep the games going). Most tend to play faster than that.
Rating range: ≤ 1200 (for us lower-rated players, this is a chance to have a decent tournament)
Max group size: 5 players per group  (you and four others in a group = only four games at a time). The top two players from each group advance to the next round.

Something to consider: IMHO too many newbies get into playing blitz and rapid right away because it's more exciting. But then they struggle to improve. Blitz and rapid, again IMHO, are best suited to players with a fair amount of chess knowledge and experience. Slow it down. Take your time with games and study the moves. Daily games allow you to spend the time to better think through combinations of moves and learn the game. Like I said, just something to consider. That's my soapbox.
