Joseph Henry Blackburne was famous for playing blindfold simultaneous matches against cafe visitors and he would win a shilling for each win. This amazing trap is named after Blackburne who used it to win many such blindfold games. This video also features a game played by Blackburne in a blindfold simultaneous match. Enjoy !!

"amazing trap" is a stretch, to be honest. It really only has one trick and if white doesn't fall for it then black is just worse.

Agreed. I've seen it once. Ignored the pawn and just continued with development. Couldn't understand why my opponent had made such a bizarre opening move. They had to move their knight again and lost time.
