How can I improve my Rapid Quickly?

B1ZMARK

Ok. I guess I will heed the advice of a wise man who once said, "never argue with an idiot; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"

and I'd rather not get outskilled.

A wise man once said...

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.

Just realized from scrolling around - this is really hard to read. Sounds and looks like one guy arguing against himself.

ChesswithNickolay

True.

Why are people still arguing in this thread? New to the forums, this kinda thing doesn't get locked?

blueemu

My suggestion is to play slow time controls in order to improve, and fast time controls in order to transfer the new skills into Blitz and Bullet.

First you get good, THEN you get fast.

little_guinea_pig

Wait how is 1400 rapid 95th percentile?

The blitz equivalent is something like 1800, lol.

LeiJChess

Seems that mostly beginners play rapid, and more solely speed chess at higher ratings

If it does not break the rules with the argument then I would assume it doesn't get locked

Rapid ratings ARE easier at the lower levels, but after 1800 Rapid ratings are tougher:
