I would say try to learn opening principles like development and when to castle

In addition (this is something I did for rocket League if you know what that is) if you want to be like Hikaru you should watch his streams and stuff and try to anticipate his moves, which if you do enough will lead to you developing a sense of what good moves are. Go for like 30 minutes to an hour a day of either watching pros and then playing games, and you should see some more improvement
