Terrible site for new players?

PotatoePeter

As a new player I just lost like 24 out of my last 25 games. How is this site enjoyable for new players if you just lose 5 elo per loss and get terribly stomped every game?

Get better at chess, reevaluate your games, and take some chess lessons.

Playing is not all about winning if you lose you can learn and you can do puzzles

The rating system will eventually pair you with players of the same level, so it is strange that you are losing virtually every game. Maybe you picked a rating too high for your level when making your account? If so, losses will lead you to a more adequate rating and in that pool results will be balanced. Then, if you improve you'll get more wins and your rating will rise, so you will face stronger opposition and results will be even again. And so on.

As of writing this post, I am 815 in dailies, 792 in rapid, and 560 in blitz.

I have played over 1000 games. Clawed my way up from the 400s before plateauing in the 800s in rapid and descending from there.

You have no right to complain.

PS: As your rating rises or falls, so too will the ratings of your opponents. For instance, more often than not, sub 1000 players only challenge other sub 1000 players.

Losing will give you knowledge if you take advantage of it; Winning means you applied the knowledge you got from books to mistakes., so keep playing and try to correct every mistakes you make. Soon you will find yourself getting a win, two or even a streak.
