Checkmates Taken To The Next Level

ZippityZapZop

Hey guys!

I know a lot of you guys are bored in quarantine so I'm setting up a forum challenge.

I will be checking daily for you favorite, hardest checkmates. Every 30 posts a round ends. This will continue until this post dies.

Here are the rules:

- Checkmates have a max of 10 moves to not make it to hard for me

- No illegal positions

- Make you checkmates in a puzzle format, like the daily puzzle forum

- If I can't decide what position is better, the other people who aren't in the top 3 will vote for the best checkmate

- Wash your hands before you post anything happy.png

This was a game of mine where I was White. It is one of my favorite positions to share; this should get the forum started happy.png Also, the entire game can be found here: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-showcase/romantic-style-finish-true-lone-knight-checkmate-on-the-edge

The puzzles have to be original, right? In any case, here is a pretty hard mate in two puzzle that I created:

KeSetoKaiba

Wait @Chess4PK, does this make you the son of IM @ChristopherYoo ? https://www.chess.com/forum/view/more-puzzles/mate-in-2-from-my-son

Just curious tongue.png

Chess4PK

1) Christopher Yoo is 13 years old. I don't think he is very likely to have a son.

2) I am 13 years old. Even if a 13-year-old could have a son, I don't think the son would be 13 as well.

3) The last names don't seem to match either.

4) If you look carefully, you will notice that the puzzle I have provided is manipulated to increase the efficiency of material by replacing the pawn on g4 with the workless white king.

So to summarize, this indeed a puzzle that I have created and I am indubitably the son of Christoper Yoo (not!!!).

Okay. The puzzles are really similar though - as for for IM @ChristopherYoo, I don't know him at all; all I know is his forum title noting the puzzle was from his son. Did I really suspect you were related? Not really, hence my emoji tongue.png Just asked to be sure.
