What if chess was never invented? I would still be losing card games of Rummy and Crazy Eights to my older sisters.
If chess was never invented, we wouldn't be chatting here. This topic would never have come up.

I'm sure those guys would still prove their worth. Fischer would be World Champion for a few more years, then lose a dramatic WCC to Kasparov (and disappear from there! 
). Kasparov would be very dominant until Carlsen beats him!
