16.. Re8 and there's still work for white to do.. though it's still much better for white. If the white king checks on f7 black goes to h8.. if h7 then black's king scoots over to f8..
No checkmate here...
This wins another pawn and threatens mate on f7...
However, there is no mate... That can easly be avoided
If white does a passive move, black could also attack with the rooks
