An unbalanced endgame

It's not often you see a game that trades off into a Bishop + Rook vs. Knight + two pawns ending. Apparently, it doesn't go well for the latter side.

No, white would just take the knight on move 48, instead of taking the pawn.

What about 51...Kg6 52.Kd3,Kf5 53.Kc4,Ke4 54.Kb5 and white will gobble up the queenside pawns?  Black must activate his king and the darksquared bishop's range is too great for black to counter.  At b5 the pawns cannot move, and white will place a bishop on b8, cleaning the pawns and then promoting the a-pawn.

Can anyone explain the Queen shuffling? I was extremely confused when I went over this game.
