Don't understand a "Best move" reccomndation by the engine

Hey all,

After I have watched the game analsys of a game I had, I didn't undetstand the "Best move" reccomndation by the engine:

Now, this is my turn. I have made h3 which is a blunder. The computer says the best move is Rxd8. How is that possible? If I do Rxd8 then he takes Rc1 and there is now way for me to save the game.
Can someone please shed some light on this for me?
Thanks!

If black doesn't take the rook on d8, it can retreat to d1 to stop the check.

h3 is a blunder because you lose your rook for no reason. The back rank mate threat from black does not really exist (your back rank is well defended so the escape square was not needed).

With the recommended best move, you win the rook on d8. If Rc1+, then you bring the your rook back Rd1 preventing mate.

If black plays Bxd8, Nc3 or (now) h3 prevents mate anyway, and white has a winning Q+N vs R+B ending.

After RxR BxR you would move the g-pawn as the black bishop can attack h2 if you move the h-pawn.
