Draw against Latvian guy
I do not like off beat lines because they are "refuted" Yet unstudied and not following opening theory can get you in trouble. Studying the off beat lines why they are refuted can help learn more about the game and also how to play against difficult and foreign opening lines.
The game above is not listed a Latvian. Show it to me and I will give my thoughts and what my texts point to.
GodsPawn has shared the game and it is not latvian game but my opponent was from latvia. So looking forward to your comments
I am not that great at the french and have even adopted a gambit line to find better play. With that beig said Bb5 I believe is not a great move. The reason is because blacks light square bishop is terrible unless all of those pawns are removed. Rb1 on move 12 could have been better to continue to try and open a file and that side of the board. Also near this point is the option go to Bg5 and threaten to take the knight. This gives you double knights vs doubled bishops in a closed position.
Your play with knights at the end was very fun to watch and was done with excellence.
