2--A win is a win; no extra points for style or beauty. Ugly is fine; take the point and run; learn from your mistakes.
3-- You won because you had a pawn (actually 2), with the potential for promotion, albeit highly unlikely; otherwise, you would have drawn due to insufficient material when opponent's time lapsed.
So winning on time as white in this case was really dishonorable then? I just learned to play and I am really confused about how it seems you can win in a rude way can you explain please? I realize this was a game where I lost all my material, but why is it dishonorable if I could still win?? why is it not a tie in this case if I am so behind but time runs out for opponent? maybe that would be more fair idk
