Yea, not even close. Attacking in a superior position is good, since your opponent will have a hard time getting pieces to the defence, but attacking from an INFERIOR position is suicidal, and you will get crushed.

I agree that attacks and threats are necessary to win - and also good position recognition. Apparently White didn't look past gaining a Pawn with his Knight and the ensuing attacks on that Knight that, by move 14, left you (Black) much more developed than White, controlling the center, and having most of your pieces pointed at the White King.  White then moves a Bishop to f4, sealing his own Queen off from the K-side of the board where she's desperately needed.
