Castling and Checkmating at the same time

CoenJones

Imagine this position in a game. how awesome would that be!
TitanCG

I think Batgirl has a blog post with many games won by castling that you can check out.

CoenJones

oh cool, thanks

CoenJones

yeah, i'd love to play at a tournament, and castle to checkmate. I'd love to see the look on the persons face!

detune

I played a game where I was lucky and managed to checkmate by castling!

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Bc5 4.Bc4 Nf6 5.O-O Ng4 6.d3 Bxf2+ 7.Kh1 Bc5 8.Bg5 f6 9.Be3 d6 10.Bxc5 dxc5

 11.Bb5 Ne3 12.Re1 Nxd1 13.Rexd1 Bd7 14.Bxc6 Bxc6 15.Nh4 Qd7 16.Nf3 f5 17.Nh4 fxe4 18.Nf3 exd3 19.cxd3 Bxf3 20.gxf3 Qf7

 21.Re1 Qxf3+ 22.Kg1 Qg4+ 23.Kf1 O-O# 0-1

jealous detune. i am so jealous

detune

LOL.  Don't be jealous.  If you look at all the moves, the opponent played slightly worse than I did, and on the last move I realized 'Hey..I haven't castled yet...better do that quick."  And BAM!  Checkmate.  So no skill involved whatsoever...

detune

BTW...how do you post moves with the little viewer like you did at the beginning of the post?

CoenJones

when you post, you see that chess board along that bar above your text? you click that, and it'll guide you through. you can use a pgn file in it too!
