As much as I hate Bobby Fischer, many will argue his game against Byrne where he sacrifices the Queen with ...Be6 as being the best.
Is Kasparov-Topalov the greatest game ever?

I don’t think it ranks even in his top ten greatest games! The story behind it is cool, and the tactic is memorable. But he played at least two better games in the final against Spassky, and several others as a mature player on the way to qualifying for the championship.
Fischer’s “Game of the Century” is important because it heralded a new world class talent, but it doesn’t rise to the level of other demonstrations of his artistry.
... As for me, my favorite is Reti-alekhine Baden-Baden 1925
Reti was an artist at the chess board. It probably hindered his practical tournament results.
One of my favorite chess games was Reti vs Bogoljubov, New York 1924.
