My 47 Semi-Memorable Games (#1: I Finally Get Coherent)

I've just gone through and put together the best (okay, the least crappy) of my USCF games, which I've decided to call My 47 Semi-Memorable Games.  Sort of the cream of the crap, so to speak. Smile  Anyway, I thought I'd post a few of them here.

The following game was played after I'd been knocking around in tourneys for more than a year (with over 50 games already under my belt), but, looking back, it was the first one where I actually demonstrated the ability to make some sort of plan.  I played terribly in this tournament btw (it was my worst-ever performance rating except for that time I tanked in a quad with an 0-4), so this game was at least some consolation, and showed that, in spite of everything, I was maybe on the right track.  I think I probably pinched the king-invasion idea from Tal-Lisitzin, USSR Champ 1956, the first game in the Selected Games collection annotated by Hajtun (a terrible book btw, but beautifully printed, with unusual diagrams where the bishops had feathers in their caps and the rooks looked like towers; it even had one of those cloth bookmarks sewn in!).

As usual with my games, try to ignore the opening phase as best you can, for it's apt to be a bit ragged... Embarassed

I think 42 is a good number.

Fun...thanks

Fun game! The similarity to the Tal game (one of my favourites) is striking - same pieces on the board, your king queenside whilst his is queenside. Hopefully I will get to use this idea in one of my games!
