Why not after 14... Nxd4 then 14 Qe1#...?
I was playing black against the a 1500+ player so I took time to think through all my moves. At first white made a minor mistake when he released the pressure in the centre by exchanging pawns+rooks, but then he blundered, And I exploited the blunder!
