Wow. I wish my 1200 rated Blitz opponents were that weak.

Here is my OTB game versus a weaker player with 90+30 time control.

Twenty-six seconds seems almost too long for this game. Each player expended thirteen; one expended them more productively.

I like this one.

Why is 16...g6 subtle? In many QP openings, including the Colle, the fight is over the square e4. In addition, the move ...g6, while putting pressure on the e4 square, also weakens Black's kingside.

White's problems stem from his 14th move, moving his QR to b1 instead of Qc2 (supporting the square e4) and his lack of development for his QB.

It wasn't an obvious move to me in the game because I wasn't familiar with the pattern or the position very well. All I knew at the time was that I needed to control that e4 square. I wanted to play f5 but I didn't want to lock in my light-squared bishop so I played g6 instead with the option of Bf5 next.

A nice game I played yesterday:

In this Blitz game I lost material after overpressing in a complex tactical position but played energetically to make up for it.

You should always know chess theory to get you the best possible position, but worst comes to worst, trust your gut and attack!

normrocks:

I expected Nxe5, where white would win a pawn.

In reality 7.Nxe5?? loses at once after 7...Qd4+ (check!) and you can pick up the queen next move...

To give my opponent credit this was a 2-0 bullet game.
And for the record, the sac 20... Bxh6 could have been defended with 21. Bf8 with a slight advantage for black.
