12 Reasons Why Haters Hate WC GM Magnus Carlsen

RedGirlZ

I like Magnus Carlsen, but I don't think he is better than Kasparov. If Kasparov whos now well into his 50's, can still beat top players like Hikaru, imagine him at his prime now.

also in terms of Carlsen being better than plays like Morphy, well most GM's would be better than morphy, like come on MOrphy was around like 150 years ago, it's not very fair to say Magnus is better than Morphy, because we don't know how good morphy would of been with technology if he had been alive in the 21st century.

Magnus Carlsen's strategic and positional mastery in relation to other Super GMs means he's the least likely to be outplayed in a long strategic game.

I'm pretty sure Carlsen at his peak will be the most powerful human chess player to his date, leaving Fischer and Kasparov eating their dust. Carlsen is just that good.

Yet he could not win one long game out of twelve against Caruana.  And let's not forget that he only beat Karjakin after sixteen games also.

Also there is the " Envy Factor " as well. Carlsen became a GM at a very young age. Many people are just out and out jealous that any one person can be that talented, quite simple really.

---   Yes indeed the " Envy Factor " is still alive and well. Btw Carlsen is still the World Champion of Chess ( Yes I said World Champion lol ).

---   Carlsen retained his title by following the rules ( let those who are filled with envy continue to hate as long as they wish to do so  rofl ).

He was referring to Carlsen at his peak, not the Carlsen of the last couple of years.

Hopefully he'll rediscover his old form sometime soon.

fabelhaft

"He was referring to Carlsen at his peak"

And apart from that, Carlsen even won the match in the end. One could just as well talk about how Kasparov never could have been the best player ever since he scored +0-2=13 in the match against Kramnik. But the thing is, when players are very active as they are today, they simply do not always play their best chess. And picking this or that event says less than looking at for example Kasparov in all other events than that one match during 1999-2002 or Carlsen's general results 2009-18.

Only jealous people hate Carlsen
