abusive language
What can you do if someone send you abusive message while playing game with you ?
The FAQ explains the tools that are available to manage this sort of behaviour: see Help --> Report Abuse, or https://support.chess.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1444877-what-should-i-do-if-another-member-is-rude-or-abusive-
For example, you can block them, which will stop them from being matched with you or posting in a forum thread you create; you can also disable chat.
In severe enough cases, please report them to the Support team so it can be investigated and the appropriate action taken - use "Contact" on that page.
Hope that helps!
David, moderator
Staff won't bother to check into abusive messages. They check only for abusive forums and stuff.
I didn't say this. Somebody else did.

Actually, what I said is that Moderators can check forum posts and user notes, but don't have the ability to check private messages between members, so if the abuse is happening via that mechanism, it needs to be reported to the Support team, who can and will check those messages.
Moderators (those with the blue pawns next to their name in V3) are not Chess.com staff but volunteers invited and empowered by Chess.com.
Support team are Staff and have green pawns next to their name, but not all Staff are part of the Support team.
Thanks @david. What if someone deliberately sends an abuse report to the staff against someone even if he hasn't done anything?

The site doesn't take all reports at face value. They follow-up and verify the abusive behavior or patterns of abusive behavior. As mentioned, staff can see private messages if there is a reason to look at them.
So, for something transient, it is suggested to screenshot the chat so that support can see what was posted; however, due to the fact that some things can be doctored, that isn't always proof. That can be tied to previous reports or previous moderator activity, then action would likely be taken.
Once you've been here long enough you start to look forward to those swearing messages. Its the best sex you'll have all week.
MARTIN,
since this thread belongs in Help & Support, what's up with the post count.? Its been off for a couple of weeks. When you go to hot topics it says 35. When you go to the ACTUAL thread, the post count is 235. Is the site #@%$^*& with me??![]()
Submitted for your approval, one Chess.com member who accidentaly signed in to V2 one day and forgot to sign out.
He's now caught in a world between V2 and V3. He's about to unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sight & sound. A dimension of mind where thread post counts don't matter. Your moving into a land of shadow & substance, of things and ideas. His life is tumbling out of control, where forum topics meld into one another. General Chess Discussion becomes Help & Support and further moves into off-topic.
You can report them, as explained above.
Before that though, you should start by not letting them get to you.
It's not always easy to avoid geting angry or trolled, but if you can manage it, then you will have them deprieved of the goal they were hoping to achieve.

I've noticed some weird stuff with post counts too. I know that there has been a bug in the past when post gets deleted the post counts used to get off-track. It is possible that is still happening.
