Accepting Challenges - Better Explanation Than The One Found Elsewhere

My question is simple: why I have some 3 days challenges that end up on a dead end track, and I can't start them, even if I would want to? The example is straightforward: my grandparent is keeping sending me challenges, but I can't see any prompt or message, I went to Homepage --> Daily challenges, I opened e4, yet the system keeps asking me if I want to cancel the challenge... How can I accept? How can understand if the problem it's me or him? He is 90, so I have to understand how this works.

P.S. chess.com, how bad can this interface be!? Can't you just send a push notification either on the homepage or directly at the email with a link, and simplify everything a little bit?

Ah, your opponent has to accept first, you can start even if youre the white pieces, without them accepting.

I am having the same problem. I sent numerous challenges to a friend who is a chess.co member and is online and in chess.com and he can not see any notification of a challenge and he is very intelligent. I do not think this site is as user friendly as it could be.
