blitz harder than rapid

does anyone have a harder time in blitz than in rapid. because I recently got to 1700 in rapid but in blitz I keep losing to way lower elo opponents. anyone know why?

Blitz is just hard. It also may depend on your thinking style. A lot of play in blitz relies on intuition rather than calculation, since you're playing fast. As a result, your play may be subpar, especially if you rely heavily on calculations rather than intuition to win rapid games. I also notice that generally speaking most user's blitz ratings are 100-200 points below their rapid ratings, see me for example (rapid 1800, blitz 1600).
Keep on practicing, maybe do puzzle rush or puzzle battles to help you get accustomed to thinking under time constraints.

Also, a lot of 1000-1500s in blitz sometimes just play well against me and I'm a similar rating level to you. I do a lot of tournaments and lose to them frequently.
