I'm rated USCF 1320. What if I play in the open sections at tournaments and win some of them where the average rating in those sections are 2200?
can i become a GM in 30 days?
can i play guitar like yngwie malmsteen in one month?
can i play piano like horowitz in one month?
can i have sex with 30 different girls in one month? (A)
can i travel to the moon in one month?
can i start a business and be rich in one month? (B)
can i end a chemical bachelor engineering in one month?
can i memorize all openings and variations in one month?
can i become god in one month?
can i destroy the universe in one month? (C)
can i just do anything i want in one month? (D)
A is possible with enough practice, or enough money.
B is possible with insane amounts of luck, equivalent to getting your three norms by playing random moves that happen to be Houdini's first choice by mere chance.
C is hard, but destroying the Earth is possible if you have the good connections.
D is possible :
Please don't show your utter ignorance it is shameful. You are simply disgracing every tittled player and the game itself.
P.S Unless you have a device that can install houdini in your brain or u get on to a device that slows time down, what i said above is true
Similarly, I can currently run a six minute mile, what if I just run a four minute mile instead?
The beauty of this is its simplicity. Once a plan gets too complex, everything can go wrong.
It's impossible to make GM in the next 30 days unless you already have two GM norms and are very close to 2500 FIDE already. There just aren't enough tournaments available!
Apart from the technical difficulties of getting a brain transplant or living in the Matrix, it's impossible because there aren't any World Championship tournaments that qualify in the next month.
Aron, if you have the three norms and can prove that you will have a +2500 rating in the next rating update, you can claim the GM title even though it hasn't been confirmed yet. Such players are known as GM-elect.
But of course, the OP had no thought of what it actually takes to become a GM. He has succeeded in creating 5 pages of responses. That was his real goal.
ahhhh, yes, calculating now, starting with US GM Norm tournaments, my qualifications needed to participate in those open sections, etc (US Open offering GM Norms ?)....giving hope to the hopeless patzers like myself with nothing better to do rite now........and no you can't (from scratch) in 30 days....maybe 1000 days....(and nights !....)
Lola, if you want GM norms, you probably don't want to play in an American open tournament. One of the qualifications for norms is that you face players from different national federations. It's a matter of luck whether you would get that in an open tournament, even the US Open.
P.S Unless you have a device that can install houdini in your brain or u get on to a device that slows time down, what i said above is true
Well, if it's in your shoes you can be im, so if it's in your brain...
With a rating of 1250ish for everything except online, you could barely beat the medium players on this website, not even counting the people who only play in nationally ranked/international tournaments
