Charlotte US Championship G/10 - 30 -60. Any experience?

I am a low rated player around 1000 but want to take the opportunity to play in this tournament since it will be nearby. Do you think that is crazy? I have been having a losing streak on chess.com lately and second guessing myself. Anyone done this tournament before? Is it fun? Thanks for any input.
