Chess.com a Blessing and a Curse to Online Chess

People get banned for rating manipulation all the time.

I've even seen someone who only had one account get banned for rating manipulation.  He was sending multiple challenges to every obviously-cheating account he could find, and then reporting them so that they would get banned, he would win, and he'd get the rating boost from beating a high-rated player.

I agree with you.

Some people get caught, some don't. In any case it screws up the system.

People still own chess.com. Danny rench probably does. Other politicians who Danny wants to be buddy buddy with might own chesscom stock, I don’t know. Anyway, it was only theoretical.

I hadn't thought of that exploit. That's actually pretty funny / genius.

You might be surprised the creative ways people find to push their ratings up.  Some are within the rules, others are not.  Some of them can be pretty funny but still lead to a ban.

I played back in Yahoo! chess days, and that crap never appealed to me.

Some had 5 digit ratings tongue.png

Windows-->run--->command prompt--->ping chess.com

and see how much ping you get. According to my location from Australia, (i guess chess.com server is in USA)

I have 230ms in chess.com,   other sites varies from (64ms to 420ms ) .

Chess.com is average to me.

Hi!

VanishingDragon

I will still pick chess.com over other websites. I mean what other websites give you 8 premoves? grin.png they so miser with just one, and making another move cancels the previous premove??? (chess.com has a great solution for this, which was to right click to cancel)
