Classic time contols

I guess this cannot be a new topic, but does anyone wish chess.com would have a tournament chess time control with its own elo?

I'm pretty sure they used to have a Classical time control. I did see some rumblings about it coming back.

There's never been a classical time control or rating pool. There are longer available time controls and I think the longest available default has always been 60 minutes. With the custom option members could go longer.

It's bizarre that it's not a built in function. It's the only real time control that holds any validity.

chess.com never had a classical time control (to my knowledge anyway), but I did hear from IM @DanielRensch in one of the State of chess.com live streams that chess.com has plans to add a longer time control than rapid to be essentially "classical." Details about when this will be released or what time control counts as this new time control haven't been announced yet though.

There's definitely some support for this such as this chess.com club here:

(p.s. I'm not in this club, but I've seen it mentioned several times in the past)
