I also had the gap problem. You just have to play it a lot. You get used to it.
When I'm offline I play chess with the cpu on the iPhone app. Computer 5 is too easy but computer 6 suddenly becomes GM. I put lvl 6 and lvl 10 together and it only won because it queened, and that's not a clean win. I was expecting 10 to destroy 6 with eight move tactics to win a queen. I hope they fix the difficulty levels
