carlsen would beat us even without a queen
Could you beat Magnus Carlsen if he had no castling rights?

I'd get annihilated endlessly without him even getting out of second gear. Not castling isn't that big a deal when the gulf in strength is that huge.

Depends! If he starts without rooks he can´t castle. I might win that one.
lol...sorry but if your only advantage is a couple pieces that are generally last to come out anyways...id have to say you dont stand a chance. Id imagine you will get your queen forked before your rooks even can come in to make a difference.

NO.
why?
Magnus Carslon could beat most of us if he didn't have any rooks or Knights!
I beg to differ. Even if I'm Black and Magnus goes first, if you remove both White Knights and both White Rooks, I'd slap Magnus silly!
16 points in material is easily enough for a 2100 player to take down any GM or any 3400 rated artificial intelligence!

What!!!!!! A full queen is an huge...HUGE advantage, any fairly decent player should beat him a queen up.

To put it into perspective, back in 2001 Kasparov played an odds match against a strong amateur at the time rated about 2150. Kasparov started each game two pawns down, and narrowly won the match 2.5-1.5.

So yeah, some of the odds being suggested are clearly out of touch with reality.

If you understand chess well enough to understand why Carlsen is far better at chess that those of us who comment here, you'll understand he can beat anyone here without castling as well as with Knight or bigger odds.

I can beat him easily with 2-for-1 pawn odds. I get White, and I have to shed my e-pawn, he has to shed his f- and g-pawns.
Bet ya I win!
