I've only had weed a couple of times and felt very paranoid. I don't think I'd be able to concentrate on the game as I'd be worried I was doing something stupid and people were laughing at me.  Much less so online but even then I'd think I was doing or about to do a silly move.  Just me I guess.

There are two main positive aspects to weed besides the better slow focus ability...

#1...Lessens pain

#2...Enhances love making...when those thc cannaboids attaches onto our pituary glands it activates extreme pleasure...It may take longer but the "big bangs" are well worth it...

Those who laugh at you are either high themselves or are uneducated on the benefits of weed...so... go ahead and enjoy that wonderful feeling whenever you are in the mood...The side effects including long term usage (if any) are miniscule compared to alcohol poisoning...cigarette smoking and yes even those prescription drugs to control pain has undesireable side effects such as addiction...

I can mention more about the benefits outweighing the negatives on pot...Been using that health herb occasionally since the hippie era over 50 years...with always a smile on my face...

What has changed is the money envolved buying and selling...Take that equation out and allow people to grow their own for free without consequences...Merry Christmas chess players...

I don’t care if people smoke (or ingest) pot, but I don’t want them driving or operating machinery while under the influence. Unlike alcohol, it is more difficult to set a defined limit of how much is too much.

Thats right...The drawback of edibles are it takes effect in an hour or more depending on potency compared to smoking pot that the high is immediate...

And the highness profile is more bell curve than cliff drop. happy.png

And eating it, the effect can be ridiculously intense and result in a trip.

Never had a "trip" or "hallucinating" from eating weed....Just that good, happy, laughing feeling about yourself and others...I would not trust edibles from the black market as it could be diluted with something else nor would I trust buying them from dispensaries that has been tested and can be manipulated...Grow...bake or infuse your own is the way to go...

Have from smoking it though.

My weed smoking--and eating--days are long past, but back in the day there was a certain "Forrest Gump" quality to the pot we bought: We never knew exactly what we were going to get. One time you had to smoke half a bag to get a decent high. The next time all it took was two or three hits and I could spend the evening listening to the secret messages coming out of the left channel of my stereo when I cranked up the volume

Oh, you've heard that too!

I know  a bit of theory because my wife was a mental nurse who took me on as a longterm project, but she's a psychologist and a personal counsellor too. So I get feedback, as well as being interested in what killed my mother and brother etc. It may seem like I'm being a bit of a jerk, being negative about these things but these are the opinions I've reached after years of it, knowing many people who perished due to drugs, etc etc. I think I owe it to life to be honest about this, within limits, whatever people may think of me.

That's a sad story to hear.

I thought I'd speculate on the depression link a bit. There's a simple answer as to why nurses might've observed such a thing:

  • When somebody uses cannabis they don't have to combat any form of depression that might've taken root in them, they simply smoke it away. And when they're then compelled to discontinue their use of cannabis -- boom! It hits them... "I've been depressed all this time and I didn't even realize it." By then they haven't developed certain immunities to stress as say people who tackle their emotional issues head on.
  • Cannabis will generally put the user in a deep state of mind where they then become critically analytical about their issues and the social mishaps we encounter everyday. This is a popular observation. It is unlike many other substances that introduce a sense of fantasy and a means to getaway. Cannabis use can lead to some rather depressing views on life, in that sense. In other words, the stone cold truth will become apparent.

That's why cannabis is considered medication. It must be taken in conjunction with philosophical and psychological enlightenment, or else it will only serve to heighten certain psychological issues in the long run.

Well, as a lot of people have mentioned, smoking isn't the only way... smoking is for smokers. Though, human beings have been smokers since Prometheus handed us that torch. Simply starting a fire and tending to it, one is guaranteed to inhale a certain amount of smoke from all types of dry wood.

Personally, I don't mind a little green smoke. I used to smoke a lot of reefers way back, but I gradually quit adding that tobacco and went full green. Now I hardly smoke at all.
