Reminded me of my first OTB tournament. I made the same mistake. A serious difference from blitz but even more fun.
Don't relax when you have a better position!
In round 3 of my first OTB tournament I'm currently playing my opponent played the Danish Gambit (the dubious variation with 2 pawns sacrifice) and after the "storm" has passed I was left 2 clear pawns ahead, which should be enough to win. I relaxed, started to move too fast (I had enough time to think in a 90|30 game) and lost one of the extra pawns. I was still doing slightly better. My opponent had a chance to take a draw at some point, by repeating Ne7-f5 continously but either he didn't see it or he got too ambitious. Then I ended up missing a fork! A simple fork, by moving very quickly and then lost another pawn foolishly. I could still fight on but I resigned, being down the exchange. An example of how not to behave in a OTB tournament.
No kidding, I relaxed in my last tournament and broke my record of placing in every event I have competed in..
