Ever play different rated players even up?
Actually 1200 rated players are pretty good, at least compared to people on the street. They don't make glaring mistakes often, although there are generally gaps in their skillsets as players. 1500 level players are decent tournament players and probably far better than the average non-rated chessplayer.
I'd say the difference in quality of the players is bigger between 1200-1600 than it is between 2100-2600. At the "A" level or higher (1800 +) players generally don't make big mistakes and make small positional errors which cost them the game. If you watch GMs vs "A" or expert players they'll almost always win but by usually less than a piece. But if you watch those "A" players vs 1200 level players you'll see lots of dropped pieces.

Hmm. . . I'm playing five players in matches. I've won one game so far.
I'm playing a 1200 player and having a tough time. Not LOSING but hard to make a head way. I won the first game
I'm playing two other with a 1400+ rating and they seem to be able to make very good moves forcing me to play positional chess. I dislike playing like that. I'm even trying just to get ahead by a pawn just to get to the end game.
Then there's a player 1650+ that I'm having a hard time trying to win
a pawn or even close to winning an exchange
Phew!
I'm enjoying e games but it is just odd that they are all playing me
even up. They were assigned to me from different groups I belong to.
That ever happened to you?
PLEASE DON'T MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT THE ACTIVE GAMES AS THAT IS NOT ALLOWED. THANKS
