First bully behavior in a Daily match

I am not sure, but I have the impression that people playing Daily chess are a little more educated and polite than people playing blitz. Perhaps because a lot of people playing blitz are adrenaline driven, I don't know. In any case, today for the first time a guy I am playing in a Daily tournament  began to insult me (he called me "pathetic loser").

Okay, he is completely winning, but I gave him a further pawn to get the initiative and hunt his king with my queen. I can't really see how to survive this. In one possible variation I could mate him if he take another pawn, but this will not happen in the game. However, he could make a stupid mistake and allow me to come back to the game.

I won quite a lot of games where I was losing, usually rapid games, but also several Daily games. I simply cannot understand why the guy has the need to get abusive.

I will tell you know, I will take a lot of time to finish this game. This is the kind of person that you make you thinking on taking vacation for a long time just to pay back. Still not sure about this though.

I should, but after what I answered him I think is better not to do this happy.png

Yes even in daily games some people get abusive. But there’s no need to report. Just block him and he can no longer message you.

I would much rather get bullied than be forced to wait the duration of an entire game because some guy decided to abandon.

That's a dumb response.

Resign the game? What?? I am losing, but resign is not an alternative. I will wait three days, and in the last minute I do my move and so on. I am higly motivated now, as you can imagine.

If you think that’s offensive I would get off the internet.

that is teaching him a lesson, making him win by drawing out your emotional issues on someone you don't know and won't meet in your life. resign the damn game and move on

Well, I never heard from a player who won by resigning. I still have a queen and the initiative, and my goal is harrass his king until it is draw after 50 moves.

In this game I will only take a pawn if I can keep the initiative or go for a wining endgame.

This can definitely happen in Daily Games. Just recently, in one of my Daily Games, I put my Queen on an empty square that was guarded by an enemy knight!! I had three days to make a move and that is the one I made. Sheesh!  You can guess the rest. And, believe it or not, my opponent didn't call me any names.

Worst scenario of online games is waiting for time to expire. For this reason I play exclusively 10 minutes games. I wait only for less than 5 minutes.

I am playing right now a Daily game where for an obscure reason I “decided” to play a move without looking at the position. I lost a full rook and my opponent has two knights nicely placed inside of my position. An nightmare! I will still make some moves to see if I can complicate things, but even this seems almost impossible.

Welcome to the internet.

Also reporting him doesn't help, as I have reported a lot of abusers. Chess.com does nothing. Basically let them off with a stupid 'don't do it again' warning. Fk all that does.

Sounds like you need to grow thicker skin.  No reason to let yourself get humiliated by people online.

He did not humiliate me. I think he is afraid of losing a winning game. We all know rhe feeling. However, it makes me mad the way how he reacts, as it would be my fault if he still has to fight and be careful with my queen harrassing his king.
