How many fischer random(chess 960) setups are possible?
960
In practice I think some positions are considered better for one side or another and fewer than that may be used for games.

4 possibilities for the dark square bishop
4 possibilities for the light square bishop
6 remaining possibilities for the queen
5*4 / 2 = 10 possibilities for the knights
1 possibility for the king between the rooks
4*4*6*10 = 960
If you accept 2 dark white bishops and 2 light black bishops (and the opposite), you have more possible setups ! And more fun !

"some positions are considered better for one side"
++ Example of such a position?
I'm not specifically aware of them but that's my recollection from reading some comments on 960 in the past. Though my recollection could be wrong
Dumb question: Is there a way to challenge the bots to 960 chess? I do not see an automatic setup feature

When you challenge a bot, select the "Custom" mode. Then you'll see a "TYPE" pull-down menu for "Standard" or "Chess960".

I heard that too, but I have not yet seen a really better position, so I am curious.
