Ha ha, I feel I am looking in a mirror. Thanks for the tips!
Free lesson The problem with low rated players and why they stay low rated.
Thank you for your insights. The person looses the joy of playing if he uses an engine as opposed to developing his game in a natural way.
Yes, my comments on your comments, checking what applies to me:
So overall to sum:
- Low rated players are too unpatience.
I have patience to play quiet positions.
- Too agressive at moments.
Yes, I like to play agressively and sometimes it leads me to losses.
- They are focused more on what they want to do and typically is only attacking the king that they come with.
Yes.
- They don't check if the move is safe.
No, I check if the move is safe, but sometimes I simple do not see the danger.
- They don't check what their opponent want to do - Even more wrong, when a piece is on their half they focus only there and want to kick it imidiately and not getting whole picture.
No, I check what my opp. wanna do.
- They are easily provoked.
No, I try to make my own strategy.
- When they don't see how to threat a piece or dont know what to do , thats exacly where they blunder - they make over agressive move, they push pawn on front of their king or move queen to attack something.
No, most of the cases I try to organize my pieces if I do not see a direct threat.
- endgames is their worst nightmare and quiet positions.
No, I have success in most of my endgames, specially if I have enough time to think. If the clock is near zero, I really make blunders in endgames.
- They play way too fast.
Yes, I play too fast because I like to play blitz (I don't like bullet) time control more than 5 min. I like to play fast to try to make "a saving" for the endgame.
You are underrated, i mean higher rated than this Kevin. You know more stuff than 1/3 of the chesscom members combined probably.
- And one more thing that i was famous for , but i got cured by myself: They all, every one of them want to flag you and beat you on time , while they have 3+ min left (me around 40 sec lets say) in position that is super sharp and complicated. They panic or they go beast mode and they blunder...
Ultra Fresh example, 10 min ago from 5 min blitz game that i played vs 2150 rated blitz player!!! Check this out:

Yes, that is why I only resign if the position is really lost, e.g., I have only the king.
What do you think (anyone) is it wrong by coaches to train kids to play agressive style of play (1.e4 Bc4 Nf3-g5 to attack f7) and to always attack. I have seen a lot train them like this at beginning. And everybody knows kids play italian game even as black. I believe in that way kid can have more wins and its a way to coach to say here with my help the kid is winning etc.. but i dont think its right aproach...
On other hand he/she develops tactical skills but can't really plan or prepare attack.. usually is very obvious and that is a bad habbit.
I think focusing on tactics and attacking for kids seems like a good idea. It is fun and they can see success pretty quickly and they are mastering skills we all need eventually. I wish I had learned how to be an aggressive player when I started (in my twenties). Instead only now am I starting to play that way!
But, I guess we don't want to just play hope chess where we are making silly one move threats hoping our opponent doesn't see them. That's not a good way to teach chess.
Talking from/by personal experience. (Sorry my english is bad) I did an experiment.
For the last few months i played only players that are from 800 to 150 points lower rated than me. Mostly blitz ~5+5 or 10+5. For few reasons.
- To enjoy more chess by winning more and playing whatever i wanted.
- To "hold" / "defend" and to convert winning positions.
- becouse is too hot to think hard. 33* C
- To see my chess weakness in case i fail to win and why that happened (cases where i did not go full crazy mode like 1.e4 2.Ke2 or other simular)
- To understand more and better and see what and where exacly i am better than others - tactics, endgame , openings, middle plan, strategy, etc.
- For own pleasure and ego - but this is point 1.
- Playing on phone is different and more hard and using 3D settings/board.
Now lets stop talking about me and focus on you (assuming you are lower rated and want to improve)
- First of all i re-discovered my style of play. By playing mostly bullet at beggining i though i was agressive player who likes to attack. Wrong. By playing those low rated players i noticed one common thing that goes by 99% of all of them. They are really really agressive man. Wow. I wish i had their enthusiasm to kill. And they are not scared or anything like that. Some games i just played waiting moves to focus more on what they were thinking and to see their way of playing chess and creating plan... I will just post an example that is nowhere near on what i mean but still full of agressive play..
