I guess you VG army will learn when you experience it.

You think video game players don't do hard work? Youtubers like Dream and Technoblade put very hard work to entertain their millions of fans, Technoblade has cancer and he is still uploading , you call that not hard work?

They do hardwork. But on a "wrong objective"

Yeah.

That's true. They earn with ill objectives. That's called gambling, playing games for money and fun. Hard work is earning with pure objectives, you earn with the sweat, determination, and hard work you give out.

They never gamble, you have the entire definition of gambling wrong.

Gamabling is the action of taking a risky action for a potential profit in a game. For example, let's say in chess, you win, you get $8 you lose, you get -$8.

The top streamers never started to profit, they started it as a hobby, for fun, a chance to have great friends, to entertain others, and tons of other reasons.

-_- nice excuse

Yeah, you have NOTHING TO SAY so you just say nIcE eXcUsE

Well that "nice excuse" words only tells everything.

Nah, they don't tell anything. I proved all of your points wrong, and you are trying to make up new ones.

Lol you are here trying to make new excuses like mine are correct yours are proved are wrong

Yeah, Sachin is right, just because you are 4 years older than me, doesn't mean you're a genius. I also have brains. So do you, age comparison is not at all counter. Knowledge comparison. Think about it.

I am comparing the age because you may not understand how to create a proper argument and some words that I provide. I am 4 years older than you, and not only that, I am in a grade above kids my age with A+ (top marks) in almost all subjects.

Look, you will be respected only if your humble, sincere, and hard-working. Not if you are some trillionare.

They are not trillionaires, they are among the most humble and sincere people, and they are hard working, many still go to college and try to get good grades although that is needless. Many spend countless days and sleepless nights trying to get better at the game, and to entertain their viewers.

Tbh, this passage deserves mostly to chess players.

Nah, many chess players lead rough lives and aren't as humble as these streamers. Except maybe Hikaru

I again repeat, what is the result of hard-work? If you have all these tons of excused to prove VG are better, create tons of excuses to answer my question.

Oh, and as Sachin said, don't judge me by my 8-year old self. I also have brains OK? I have the ability to think.

Hey nickolay. First of all, define these two words "respect" and "growth". You automatically became 8+ or a genius or else anything great within the beginning of your life? Life is all about growth. Not fun/entertainment. VG does not give any growth. Only money tbh. But chess gives alot of growth such as in brain etc.

Video games teach strategy, creativity, etc. In MInecraft, you can build whatever you want that you dream of. You can also hop on to Hypixel and play some bedwars where you cooperate with your teammates and form strategies. Video games give a ton of growth in life, while being fun and entertaining

If you don't mind, could you just replace the word chess instead of VG over here. It would be way more accurate.

Prove my "wrong". Let me relist all of mine. If you won't admit you lost, I will finish it off with my essay and lock this topic.

ChesswithNickolay

Okay, let me explain both sides. Your thing "chess will cure a mental disorder" is entirely wrong, Bobby Fischer is one example.

Video games can be good for you. First of all, they can improve your coordination, computing skills, reaction time, and strategic skills. Minecraft, for example, fits most if not all of these. If you don't believe me about reaction time, just watch Dream, and if you don't believe me about the coordination, just watch some top level PvP. Secondly, some video games are more fun than chess, even I who loves chess, always prefers some Minecraft in between a few games. Also, some companies to try to profit from the game and make people addicted, but Minecraft, and a few other games, is a much bigger story, I have a few friends who play a bit too much Minecraft, and they never spent a cent on the game because there is mostly no point. And lastly, video games can be used as a career option. If you are determined enough, you can actually use your addiction, to profit from it, or simply not be addicted but still profit. Technoblade explained that he used to play for hours at a time, but as soon as he got popular, he recorded and streamed three/four hours, and then just stopped for the day. Some of the top and most famous content creators and streamers play Minecraft. Tommy Innit, earns $250,000 a month (he lives in the UK) and this estimate is an old one, dating to about a year ago. Even if you can get 100,000 subscribers, just apply for the Dream SMP and you will get much more subscribers and views, and you would be able to profitably stream as well. If you get 1,000,000 views a day on your YouTube video ($5,000), and then play more on your twitch (or make a second YouTube video),  you will earn around $10,000 a day, not to mention that you can make a YouTube channel for all of your daily twitch streams, and make best clips channel as well. In conclusion, video games aren't all that bad, and some are actually great because they improve certain skills, are really fun, and you can actually profit from the moneywise.

($100 (US) is 7513 Rupees (India)

Sources: " TommyInnit has amassed the huge net worth amount of $7 million by 2021. Tommy receives around 2.2 million views daily from different sources, which makes his earning around $11,000 in a day. Tommy is earning a hefty sum from streaming on Twitch. His estimated annual earning from Twitch is $49,500"

In total, TommyInnit makes an estimated $277,000 per month from uploading YouTube videos and streaming on Twitch. Not bad considering he only posts on YouTube once per month and only streams 5 days a month!

This is what I present, and the only arguments are that "money is not important" and "fun is not important". LMAO

Lots of games can teach creativity, strategy, promote brain growth etc. Not just chess. It depends in the game not the medium, not whether it is a vg or not. That is pretty much irrelevant.

I played “Empyrion” with a irl architect friend, which is a space exploration game but you build stuff, like minecraft, and we spent hours building bases (and some spaceships) I was more experienced in the game than my friend but I learned so much working with a professional architect. We built some really elaborate bases.

You couldn’t even do this if it wasn’t a video game.

Now if anyone should b be taking the “only chess is a good game” perspective, it should be me, because I am a dinosaur who played chess before vg was a thing.

But I don’t take that perspective, because it is wrong.

I have to disagree with you there.

Professional video gamer players (and any other sportsman) face incredible stress. They have to worry about, well, making money, playing well, getting into tournaments, etc. I do agree, however, that the stress is less if you enjoy what you are doing.

AunTheKnight

Lol, Sachin typed a whole paragraph based on opinion. Sad. No evidence whatsoever, while everyone else has gathered evidence.

Clearly, Sachin is trolling.

ChesswithNickolay

I agree Aun, gamers yes, but streamers, mostly no, and those who may experience some stress, it would be very little and it would be likely caused from other sources.

Ubik42
I am pretty sure stress is very high in top level chess. I know my own pulse rate goes way up in otb games, and it’s not like my career depends on it.

I am not sure I would have wanted that type of career for myself. I prefer playing purely for fun.

And now this thread is about kids teaching others how life and work, well, works! Thanks for the wisdom. Now if only we could define and explain the terms that are still used here, with addition of new one like, that would be great:

"Dignity" (which one must earn?! sic)

"Fantasy war on a screen is fiction, fantasy war on a board is reallity".

Dmfed

And to @sachin884: You are probably not blocked, this thread just seems to have problem with the message field at the last side so just use the first page. Instead of creating another thread, not a "forum", and blocking everybody else who rightly don't agree with you biased and unsupported opinions.

AunTheKnight

I like how he blocks anyone with a different opinion.
