Good books on endgame?

Aside from Silman's books, please. I realize that I lose a lot of my games because of my poor endgame technique and calculation. In knight and pawn endgames especially, which happen pretty frequently (although not as frequently as bishop or rook ones) I screw up a lot.

Paul Keres' Practical Chess Endings is probably my favourite book on the endgame.  Very clearly written with lots of useful tips on the most common endings.

John Nunn's Understanding Chess Endgames is another useful book.  He covers the basics, and this is meant as preparation for Nunn's Chess Endings volumes 1-2 which are more advanced.

There have been a lot of other threads on endgame books, eg.

- Endgame books for study
