Got my Arena back but...

I can't get the sound to work. I had to redownload the whole 1.99 beta and redownload Rybka 2.2 but the program now works. Or at least part of it does. I have been to options etc and clicked on everything, but no sound.

Also, everyone talks about "opening books."  I can't find one in this program. (And to tell you the truth, I have never understood exactly what they were and what you did with them.)

I also downloaded Arena 1.1 because someone on this site said it was the best Arena. Tried to load the opening book and the sound, and the program froze and I had to do a CTR ALT DEL twice and then I just uninstalled the whole thing.

I'm disappointed. I like the way Arena looks. Can anyone tell me what is going on.

My first Arena just vanished one night - all but a funny looking shortcut. Never knew why.

I suppose I should be studying my chess books instead of spending all this time trying to get Arena to work.

I have the Aquarium demo, and I can't get the sound to work on that either.  This is very upsetting.

i have arena 1.1 an 1.9 i use a sound file of the arena site just for  a beep so when iplay speed it helps save a few sec .i use arena little book an arena database never had it crash its not the program its your hardware if you use vista an not xp.you could not give me a computer if i had to keep vista on it.check zarkon fishers site an doownload off the arena site an good luck.

go to the arena website look at the download parts its there they have several opening books you can download for arena along with sound files.the aquarium is a very strong demo with rybka 2.1c set at 2 sec a move great for 2min games however even if you take 2min a move rybka has only 2 sec for its move but you find it very hard to win even if you take all day it also comes with a nice little database of about 5600 games.however i do not thnk it comes with a sound file not sure if you can add one.I run about 75 free chess download programs on my desktop so i have not had enough time to see how much aquarium can be tweked with.
