Just because you beat a grandmaster doesn’t mean you become a grandmaster, there are several things to do before becoming a grandmaster

Spoiler Alert: Levy Rozman, commonly known as GothamChess, makes probably more money from chess than anyone else, thanks to being a streamer, but his chance to become grandmaster are basically nonexistent now.

His actual strength as a chessplayer is only that of a weak IM. Unfortunately he slacked at an important point of his life in regards to chess and missed his chance to improve his game. Occasionally winning against a grandmaster doesnt change this.

Chess is an excrutiangly hard game. Only about 1,800 grandmasters exist worldwide. Only about 30 people worldwide are currently Super-GMs, i.e. have a strength of FIDE Elo 2,700 and beyond. Only around 15 or so people have ever, at any point, crossed 2,800. Only two people got close to 2,900 - Magnus Carlsen and possibly Bobby Fischer.

The only chance you have to become grandmaster is to start early and to keep training consistently until you are about in your mid twenties. If you havent managed until then, you probably will never manage.

That said, even just being an IM is already an enormous archievement, and much better than most people reading this posting could hope to archieve.

He just turned 30. Are you saying that he can't get his mojo back? He has a lot of life left in him.
