He said "A proves X!"... that She got a worthless WCM title proves Women's titles are worthless!

That was the actual claim he made. Not kidding.

So I pointed out that in the identical situation (ABSOLUTELY identical situation, same ratings etc) a man would have received the CM title instead, which has an even higher formal rating requirement and is therefore being debased twice as much by the "automatic titles" rule.

I pointed out that A and X had absolutely nothing to do with each other. No connection whatsoever. An artificial FIDE rule that gives a woman a false WCM title, and gives a man a false CM title... (which is supposed to have an even higher rating requirement)... has absolutely no connection (at either end, cause or effect) to the "Women's titles are worthless!" claim.

So I offered instead the syllogism:

You claim A implies X... I counter with that claim itself implies pre-judgement.

He has already decided that "Women's titles are worthless!", and he is trying to paste that judgement - like copy-and-paste - onto the "automatic titles" FIDE rule.

If he had simply said that "automatic titles are worthless", I would have agreed with him!

NOTE that I haven't even disputed his "Women's titles are worthless" claim... I may even agree with it! Perhaps I feel the same way.

I'm disputing his alleged evidence, which does not support that conclusion.
